The aurum potable has been sought after by many, but only found by few. It is our holy grail, our royal blood, and the elixir of life. It is said to cure all ailments, and bring unnatural longevity to whomsoever consumes it. Well, that's the story. It is akin to the philosophers' stone in a number of ways, but is still lacking in many regards. The aurum potable is the first royal medicine.

The first picture is a sweet sulphur/oil of gold (oleum solis). It is the very essence of the sun. The remaining images depict a tincture being extracted (clear spiritus vini was added to the previously prepared oleum solis). The tincture gets darker, and darker as time progresses. The final result, the veritable aurum potable, is very dark red, and is quite concentrated.
